About Mike
Mike and his wife Crystal
have called West Chicago home for 19 years. They chose
this City because of its history and diverse population,
and over the years, have come to realize the joys of
living here.
Mike has owned and managed
his manufacturer�s consulting business for 28 years.
Throughout his career, Mike has learned that competition
is tough and to be successful you must give your
customers what they want at a price they want to pay.
He knows what hard work is, and understands that your
tax dollars are hard earned and precious. Mike knows
that you deserve the best government service for the
fewest tax dollars possible.
In December 2006, the
members of the City Council unanimously elected Mike to
be our Acting Mayor. Mike was elected Alderman in 2001,
and has served the 5th Ward for 6 years. He
has chaired the Development Committee for the past 4
years. In that capacity, he has used his keen business
sense and vision to attract responsible commercial
development to West Chicago, helping to ease the tax
burden on the residents.
Prior to being elected
Alderman, he served as both a Trustee and the Treasurer
of the West Chicago Fire Protection District for 4
years. As Treasurer, he developed a financial plan
enabling the District to save tax dollars and operate
more efficiently.
In 2000, Mike was awarded
the Community Spirit Award in recognition of his
outstanding contributions to our community.
Mike served on the West
Chicago Plan Commission from 1993 to 1998. In this
capacity, Mike ensured that all new developments would
�pay for themselves� and not be a burden on our schools
and other service providers. He worked tirelessly to
ensure that all new developments enhanced the overall
quality of life for our residents by bringing in needed
school sites, parks, and commercial and shopping
amenities.
Mike also served on the
West Chicago Environmental Commission for 6 years, has
worked diligently on our Railroad/Heritage Days parades
for the last 6 years, and is an active member of the
West Chicago Lions Club.
